Mr Jacob Wu
- Bachelors of Music (Piano Performance) Australian National University
- Masters of Music (Piano Performance) Sydney Conservatorium of Music
Aside from achieving academic and performance excellence (highlights include several scholarships, prizes, and performances for many notable public figures), Jacob's extracurricular commitments also included the establishment of the School of Music Collective at the ANU, and as a Music Scholar for the Wesley Uniting Church, organising and playing in liturgical music.
Jacob has devoted much time on conducting / accompanying choirs and teaching which is his main passion. His students have ranged from toddlers who have never played a piano before to retirees, as well as students preparing their AMusA and LMusA exams – some of whom would later go onto tertiary musical studies themselves. Jacob's teaching philosophy is to keep lessons productive and engaging, and ensure that students are in an artistically rich environment.
Jacob spent the past 3 years working for St. Mary MacKillop College, under the Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn. Aside from teaching piano weekly, he also facilitated in organising ensembles, recitals, showcase events, and masterclasses.
